El Nino takes a break.
It's a windy, bitter cold night as I write this. Christmas has passed but the new year has yet arrived. It seems as if we have been experiencing a true El Nino winter. Over the last 25 years, I have paid more attention to the weather than I really wanted to. Most El Nino winters for central Nebraska have been fairly similar. We seem to get above normal temperatures for a couple weeks, winter for a couple weeks, and than back to above normal for a couple weeks. This has been typical of winter so far this year. Tonight is truly the first bitter cold night of the winter. My hope is that the warm weather quickly returns. Our first plants will arrive from Michigan the second week of January. Hopefully the weather warms so plants don't freeze in transit. This blog is a slight change from past years. We will use this space to convey weather related announcements for the nursery. Since our Shelton location is truly Open Air, we do cover plants when the weather turns cold and wet. We will make regular posts to this blog when the weather requires. If the weather is questionable, always check our Weather Related link on our website www.bumpuppot.com to find out if we are open or if we have modified our hours. If the weather is questionable always feel free to check our weather related link or call us before you drive to Shelton. We're excited about our 25th year and are in the process of planning a 25 year celebration. See you in 2016.
